Narendra Modi’s mega show in Varanasi

Varanasi । Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a mega road show in his constituency Varanasi a day before he file his nomination. Thousands of People cheered for Narendra Modi during the road show.

Narendra Modi kept waving at the people gathered during road show from his SUV.  Supporters were walking along with the convoy. Road show started late by two hours from the scheduled time.

The road show meandered through the ancient temples and ghats such as Assi, Bhadini, Sonarpura, Madanpura, Jangambari and Godowlia and culminated at the Dashashwamedh Ghat.

Prime Minister held a ‘puja’ and attended the ‘Ganga pujan’ after the Ganga ‘aarti’ at Dashashwamedh Ghat.  The ‘Ganga aarti’ is held at 6.50.p.m everyday but it was held almost an hour behind scheduled.

Just before he began his road show, the Prime Minister tweeted “Grateful for warmth and affection”.

Before starting his road show Modi paid a floral tribute to the statue of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya in the city’s Lanka area. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya is the founder of Banaras Hindu University.

Top BJP leaders, including party president Amit Shah, top Union Ministers and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accompanied Modi as the convoy moved though the holy town.

Ramlila artistes from one of the city’s oldest troupes, the Mauni Baba Ram Lila Committee which is 522 years old, accompanied the convoy.

Its manager Vikram Bhardwaj said, “Lord Ram’s Sena is with PM Modi,” pointing towards actors dressed as Hanuman, Angad, Nal and Neel, the monkey army from the epic Ramayana.

Slogans like “Modi pure hai, baaki sab chor hai” and “Har jagah Modi ka danka, haar gayi Priyanka” rang out as rose petals were showered on the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is re-contesting from the Varanasi parliamentary constituency.

Narendra Modi will be filing his nomination papers tomorrow in the presence of NDA Leaders.

Narendra Modi file nomination on 26th, top NDA Leaders to attend

Modi won the 2014 elections from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat by defeating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Ajay Rai of the Congress.

This time Shalini Yadav from BSP-SP alliance and Ajay Rai from Congress is contesting against Narendra Modi.

After the announcement of Ajay Rai as Congress candidate form Varanasi all the speculations of Priyanka Gandhi fighting election against Modi is over. Priyanka herself had hinted that she may contest from Varanasi if Party president approves.

The high-profile seat will go to polls on May 19 in the seventh phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
