Mumbai I Versatile Hindi Cinema actor Irrfan Khan has died in Mumbai. Khan had been admitted to a Kokilaben Hospital hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday. Irrfan Khan was being treated for a colon infection in a Mumbai hospital. Irrfan is survived by his wife and his two sons Babil and Ayan. Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in March 2018 and for the past few years, the magnificent actor had been in and out of hospitals for treatment.
“It’s saddening that this day, we have to bring forward the news of him passing away. Irrfan was a strong soul, someone who fought till the very end and always inspired everyone who came close to him,” Irrfan Khan’s spokesperson said.
Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, who directed Irrfan Khan in Piku, tweeted: “My dear friend Irrfan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. We shall meet again.. Condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. You too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om Shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.”
