Income Tax dept steps up action against the Rotomac group

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is continuing to search the three locations including the Tilak nagar residence and Mall road City Centre offices of Vikram Kothari, chairman, RotomacGlobal private limited, on Tuesday for the second day, with regards to on-going investigations wherein he has been accused of defaulting loans up to Rs 3,700 crore.
In order to prevent anyone from removing or tampering with the documents or evidence, the Tilak nagar residence and two Mall road City Centre offices of Kotharis have been cordoned off by the police after CBI team, comprising of nearly 20 to 25 sleuths, launched searches again on Tuesday morning. The CBI has also taken Sadhana wife of Vikram Kothari into its custody and took her to some undisclosed destination to collect some crucial evidence related to the case.

Sources, however, said that the CBI team along with Sadhana, was spotted near the premises of Kotak Mahindra bank close to Nana Rao park on Mall road. Sources also said that the CBI suspecting involvement of more persons involvement in the case and is likely to question employees and relatives of Kothari further. After lodging of FIR, no arrest however has yet been made by CBI, sources added. Meanwhile, a team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials also reached the residence of Vikram Kothari to question him and other family members including his wife Sadhana and son Rahul in this case.
