Gangster Vikas Dubey “Kanpur-Wala”, killed in encounter

Kanpur I Gangster Vikas Dubey has been killed in an encounter by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Friday. Vikas Dubey, wanted for the massacre of eight policemen at his Bikru village in Kanpur, was arrested outside Mahakal temple in Ujjain on yesterday.

The Uttar Pradesh STF along with the gangster Vikas Dubey had left from Ujjain to Kanpur on Thursday evening. Speaking on the encounter, UP ADG, law and order, Prashant Kumar said “UP Police and STF were bringing Vikas Dubey to Kanpur, however, police vehicle carrying Vikas Dubey had overturned in the morning around 6.30am, while taking advantage of the situation Vikas Dubey snatched a police pistol from the injured police personnel and tried to flee. Police team chased and asked to surrender. Instead, Vikas fired at police team and was injured when police shot back. After that Vikas Dubey was taken to a hospital and declared brought dead.”

Dreaded gangster Vikas Dubey was notorious criminal for alleged extorting industrialists, kidnapping and killing. He was also accused of murder BJP leader Santosh Shukla inside Shivli Police Station in 2001.
